I entered into an agreement with a real estate agent on July 24. The house went on the market on Oct 22, and was withdrawn on Oct 23. If I sell the house privately, am I liable for any commission to real estate agents?

Depends on the terms of the agreement you signed with the agent.
For example, if the agent first advertised and/or "introduced" the buyer to the property,
then a commission is probably payable even if the buyer and seller reached an agreement
without any further input from the agent.

Well, if it was stated in the terms when you hired the agent, then you’ve got to pay; otherwise, probably not. I personally haven’t had such an instance. I also hire a real estate broker services Northern Virginia when I’m selling a property. What I like most about them is their reliability. They clearly state all the terms of the agreement, and I’m not obliged to pay them a commission if I sell the property privately, only the service fee.
