Hi,
Three months ago, my partner and I started renting a one-bedroom apartment via an agency with a 1 year contract. I am currently employed as a contractor, and my work contract is terminating soon. My partner has resigned from her job recently for personal reasons.
In a couple of months, I will start a new job where I will work only from home, and therefore, we would like to look for a new apartment with an extra room where I could install a study. That would imply breaking the lease early.
My question is, are the reasons that I explained above sufficient to break a tenancy agreement early without having to pay for all the remaining months? For the real estate agent, is a contractor's contract that is ending the same thing as being fired from a job? Will my partner's resignation have any impact?
If we want to take this route, what are the fees that we could be asked to pay under Property Law?
Thank you for your assistance!
Regards
