I am living in a sharehouse with 2 other people. I took over someone else's lease and did not not sign the original contract. When I moved in, I signed the papers only for 4 months, although there were nearly 12 months left of the original lease.
Now I want to move out but my housemates say that would be breaking the lease (I have been here for about 6 months) and I need to keep paying until someone else takes my room, even though I am about to issue the 4 weeks notice of intention to leave.
What are my rights here? Could I be liable for a contract that did not see nor sign?
