I’m in the ACT and have paid several thousand for a service I have now decided not to proceed with. The company would not have completed any work at this stage, and the deposit was only paid for 2 weeks ago.
I have signed a contract stating that the deposit is non-refundable, and the company is staying this in response to my request for a refund.
Do I have any legal right to get all or part of my deposit back when they haven’t actually provided the service?
