SA Visitation my child

My ex has sole custody of our child in which I agreed to 4 years ago the family court , I havent applied for visitation and am unsure where they are how would I go about seeing the child just for visits and would this need to be on writing a so would have to go to court

Have you exhausted all avenues of finding her whereabouts?... If so you may have to apply to court for a location order or make it part of an application for parenting orders
