VIC Tree Fell on Neighbour's Property - Will I Pay the Costs?

Can your neighbour ask you to pay for minor damages to cubby (dinted tin) months later from a tree falling from my property after they have said don't worry about, its not worth fixing? I've got all the materials to fix it if I decide to.

If they take me to property law court and I loose will I have to pay for their court costs?

Do you suspect that your neighbour will change their mind and ask for it to be fixed?
Even if they change their mind, why would they take you to court if you then fix it? There'd be no reason to waste the court's time.
