Does graduating with a Juris Doctor degree (doctor of jurisprudence) technically make one's title Doctor? If so, does this also mean that on Australian Law legal documents that individual is entitled to list their title as Doctor?
In its most advanced incarnations (such as UMelb), it's an AQF Level 9 degree.
That is, the same level as an LLM.
Often, you'll need a previous (or sometimes, simultaneous) Bachelor degree (AQF 7) to get in.
Lawyers with Doctorates almost always hold a PhD.
There are a few with Doctorates in fields other than law,
such as various Humanities, or Science, or Engineering.
