My employer recently notified I would be redeployed from my role to undertake “projects”. I have been successful for two years in this role. There was no prior discussion or consultation. My role and title has been given in an ‘acting’ capacity to another team member without discussion. I now have no job title. No change impact has been completed as per my EBA. This arrangement is to be to the end of the year.
We work in the healthcare sector, the department has put a freeze on any restructures or change requiring an impact statement. The department have indicated this is to the end of year.
I believe this is an underhanded way to produce change prior to the department of health allowing for official change to occur.
Can you recommend further steps going forward? Is this unlawful practice?

Are you on JobKeeper?

Without reading the EBA and your employment contract I can't tell.

Purely from your post, and not knowing your status wrt JobKeeper, you may have a cause of action and may be able to invoke a dispute resolution clause.
