Hi there, my son purchased a Toyota hilux in Jan 2024 from a private seller. We purchased the vehicle after the vehicle past a Safety inspection the sellers organised.

Around 4 weeks later the car was being worked on when they discovered major rust in the chassis to the point where it’s unroadworthy and dangerous to drive. We sent a letter with photos to the company who supplied the Safety Certificate and they replied saying they were satisfied the inspector had completed their job as per DMT requirements.

My question is can I go back to the buyers of the vehicles and demand a refund or legal pursue the Safety Certificate Company. The server will not let me load any photos
