I was a pillion passenger on a motorcycle involved in a road accident July 2014, I engaged lawyers after receiving a letter from ICWA.
The lawyers sent me to an psychiatrist for an independant report of my condition, They also srnt me to an orthopedic surgeon for acessment of my physical injuries,
The ICWA requested I see a Psychiatrist for another assesment. I have maintained regular doctors appointments throughout this time, I also attended appointments eith a barrister, who advised me that My claim had been rejected twice, he then advised me he would request a settlement confetence, (confused me as the ICWA hadnt accepted my claim)
many months later I attended an appointment with the Barrister who informed me that the law firm may not be able to continue with my case and if this was so I would receive a call from the head lawyer to let me know, he also stayed that they wpuld provide me with my file, he stated that this did not mean I wadnt entitled to compensation and coukd approach other law firms to continue my claim, A frw months later I received a lettet from my lawyers with a letter attached from ICWA stating that they woukd accept my claim without predjudice or admittsnce of liability.
I had a few issues with "hos my lawyers and the Bartister treated me they were sarcastice, rude and snappy,
I was particularly Insulted and shocked by the unprofessional and medically inadequate reporting by their appointed orthopedic surgeon, I met with another law firm (with a family member seeking help with a claim over injuries her child rec in a mva) after her appt, I asked this lawyer a few questions re changing lsw firms, I was impressed by his professional advicr so I initiated the change.
It has been just over 3 yrs since the date of the mva, I attended the psych appt requested by ICWA, my lawyer requested a report from my GP, He also asked if My former employer would provide a statement re my post accident abilities within my profession, My GP has caused huge delays in the progress of my claim "he did Not read any of the specialist reports provided to him (he was provided with 2 reports 8 months sgo, and one 6 months ago) he was mailed the reports by my lawyer and his receptionists photo copied the reports at my request as apparently they scan and internally send reports to the gps computer.
My Laeyer advused me once the gp and my former employer complied with the requests he would like to wrap up my claim and Get me A Substantial Claim, he said the psych reports were hugley in our favour, however my GP Still has not provided a report, My lawyer has referted me to an OT,

I read that thete is a 3year limit on claims from date of accident and that My lawyerwould have to apply for an extention, ?

Does this affect my "pay out ammount"
The psych for ICWA has conferred with the independant psych report

The Orthopedic surgeons report is a joke "he states that I am pysically fully capable to carry out my duties pre accident, from an orthopedic point of view, he also stated that he hadnt seen any imaging or reports on my injurys however he was satisfied by pysical exam that I was fit for work (this is contraury to the medical findings in report, he understates the level of injury and percentages of historic injuries and thise of ghd accident
I have been diagnosed with PTSD I datisfy the DSM5 critetia I sm in partial remissionmy physical injuries are 50 % pre accident telated and 50% Accident related.
Should I expect this all to settle befor xmas?

You have quite a collection of different professionals who were not helpful. That is a huge red flag that your case for compensation is less than legitimate. However, everyone is entitled that at least their own lawyer gives them vigorous support if no one else.
