Need some advice on whether it's worthwhile to take it to court.
- driving on busy "The Horsley drive" (Smithfield NSW), there are some parking on the left lane. 2 or 3 spots between each shops/driveway.
- while searching for where to park, i pulled over to the left and let the cars behind me through to avoid blocking traffic (busy road)
- i had no idea that i pulled over to a "no stopping" section
- at no point did i stop the engine or got out. I simply waited for the traffic to clear on the main road before joining the road again. This would be approx 1 minute of waiting in the "no stopping" area.
- weeks after the incident i got a fine, two photos of the car was taken at the "no stopping" area. One of the photo shows break lights still on.
- I have written to them advising of the fact but obviously got rejected and still enforcing the fine.
News to me that at no point you can be at a no stopping area.
I've never taken anything to court before. If i lose in court, any estimate on how much i will be out of pocket?
Should i just pay the fine and get on with life?
