Hi all
My situation is I have been orderd by a judge to take a paternity test for a 3year old child. The mother never put me on the certificate, however we did have a sexual relationship twice. Now if I am proven to be the father what happens in the next next court proceedings as the judge adjourned the court to a later date on the basis that the DNA test was done. Will I need a lawyer and what does a judge do on the court after a test is proven positive

Expect a finding by the court you are the father. After the court declaration, expect the next call from the CSA (Child Support Agency) demanding financials, followed by a demand to pay child support. If CSA don't like you or what you tell them, expect to be in a world of pain for a while. It will eventually settle down but get help if it starts to feel overwhelming. Mensline is a good resource.
