Hello. I have been in an abusive/coercive relationship for 6 years. Recent events have actually woken me up from the slumber I was in but I’ve faced challenges. To cut a long story short, my wife grabbed a knife over a week ago and tried to kill herself and then tried to frame me for murder by getting me to hold it and do it, all in front of the children.
The police and ambulance asses her and send her home that very evening. I’m not quite sure what happens now as the police say they have passed it on to mental health and mental heath said she’s fine just stress. I explain that similar happened before when she tried to jump from the balcony with our 1 year old son a year ago, (she talked herself out of that hospital assessment as well mentioning stress etc). NSW have had two major knife crimes which have made international news this month and everyone I have spoken with have pretty much said she should be kept away from the kids and I. I love her and want the best for her but I’ve got to agree and start to think about the well-being of kids now as she’s getting worse with her behaviour.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated as I’m now just wondering what to do as she is free as a bird and I can’t just grab the kids and go due to her not being limited from them.
