I own an older property in Brisbane which has a combined sewer with the adjacent property. The council tells me that I am responsible for repairs to the combined sewer, and that my neighbour does not bear any responsibility for sharing costs. Is this true?
There's simply not enough information to tell. It will depend on such things as where the point of repair is, and whether there are any easements which affect the sewer line (and the terms thereof).
