My old high school contacted me to work on a Saturday as an invigilator for their entrance test. I was promised weekend rate beforehand via email by the person in charge. However, after the testing day, they sent me an email clarifying that there was no overtime rate for casual employees. I would not have accepted the job if they did not promise a higher rate than normal. I am just wondering if this is legal.
