Is it possible to claim for a back injury that occurred whilst working overseas? i.e.back to the company I worked for.

I left the job about 6 months ago as continued to have regular back pain and thought I needed a break...however 6 months later I am still having continual back pain and am sleep deprived

Hi @Samantha J
  1. Which state/territory are you located in?
  2. Did you notify your former employer - at the time - about the injury? If yes, how did they respond?
  3. Have you seen doctor/s in relation to the injury?
  4. Have you submitted a claim for benefits from WorkCover (or similar) for the injury?

Hi John,

I'm currently in Qld, near Brisbane.

Yes my employer was informed at the time as I couldn't walk for 3 weeks. An occupational health and safety assessment was carried out and suggestions followed. A new stool and lighter patient couch was purchased to work with. No follow up was made and patient numbers continued to increase and blow out well above the designated numbers.

Yes I have seen doctors, specialists and chiropractors the whole time.

No I haven't submitted a claim for benefits from WorkCover as thought it would get better with time.
