Going through a split up and we bought a car together, when we bought the car we traded in her car, the loan I got and have been paying with no contribution from her, her name is however on the rego as well as mine. She has always driven the car and only contributed towards insurance. The car is worth $30k private sale and $28k trade in. There is only 22800 left on my loan, I told her she can keep the car if she pays me out do I have any right in asking her to pay me $30k, also do I have to give her loan documents?

Depends on the length of the relationship, whether kids are involved, and a whole host of other things.

Assuming both names are on the tax invoice for the purchase of the car, and ignoring family law issues, you can either sell the car and split the difference after paying out the loan, or transfer the loan into her name and pay something to you.
