How do i get my car back from my ex boyfriend?

when me and my ex were still together he bought me a car while i was pregnant just before my son was born. the car got registered in my name and when we split i bought the car off of him. but he went back to jail before he could do up a receipt for me and now after 5 months he has taken the car and car key back. what do i do?

Do you have any evidence of payment, bank records?
Have you reported it stolen to police?

i have the bank transfer and police know he has my car.

See if the police will escort you to pick up the car.

If that doesn't work and the car is worth the cost, get another key and take the car, then change the lock.
