We currently have road construction on our front boundary, widening the road from 2 to 4 lanes, relocating services etc. We have a retaining wall at the front which retains the fill of the road approx 800 mm above the natural height of the land, this appears to be rising by between 10 - 15 cms, based on the raising of water meter boxes etc. This means the wall will need to be raised to approx 1m in places. Whose responsibility is it to retain a council road? Given the increase of traffic flow and the fact the road is about 45 cms closer to our property, I believe that a retaining wall would have to be engineer designed.
