I'm considering paying extra for business class on an upcoming overnight long-haul flight, mainly because I'd like to arrive reasonably rested. For those who travel frequently, how much difference does a lie-flat seat actually make for sleep and jet lag compared with premium economy?

I know this thread is a bit old, but I wanted to chime in. For me, the lie-flat seat on an overnight flight made a huge difference. I actually woke up feeling human, not like I’d been wrestling the seat. Premium economy is fine for sitting, but it won’t let you fully stretch out. If arriving rested is your main goal, the upgrade is worth it. Is the cost the only thing holding you back?

I fly overnight often and a lie-flat seat makes a huge difference for sleep quality. Premium economy reclines but you still wake up sore. Business class lets you arrive refreshed and cuts jet lag. For affordable upgrades I use travelbusinessclass.com and save hundreds on routes like New York to Dubai, making the cost actually worth it.
