My past employer gave out personal reasons for my leaving the job to my brother-in-law without me even knowing. Is the employer allowed to do this & is family allowed to ask for this information under employment law?

Yes if the employer annual turnover less than $3m.

No if the employer annual turnover more than $3m.

But either way, it does not make it right to do so, it is just that your legal options are limited.
