I was medically discharged from the army due to PTSD, anxiety and depression last year. I engaged an advocate to help me navigate DVA as the process is confusing and I was terrified at the prospect of losing my livelihood, my mental health issues also prevent me from complex tasks
the advocate I signed up with is charging me a $4000 administrative fee plus 9.9% or $1000 for every condition compensated by DVA, I am receiving a $300k pay out from them due to my injuries. The advocates are demanding 9.9% of that, I assumed that the fee was $1000 per condition or whichever was the lessor as the contract doesn’t stipulate that it’s the greater. should the contract have stated if it was the greater or lesser fee or are they able to decide once they know how much I’m being paid out as they have done?
