WA Consent for Step Parent Adoption?

I am wanting to know if my daughter's biological father needs to give consent to a step parent adoption. I have sole parental responsibility. He has not had contact with her since august 2010. And before that contact was limited. I do not claim child support either.

Hi,

Yes consent of the following persons must be obtained for step parent adoption:

1. the birth parent the child lives with
2. the other birth parent (the relinquishing birth parent)
3. the child, if the child to be adopted is 12 years old and over.
