I want to access my jointly owned property with my ex partner, can I do this legally if no court orders are in place?

As in, without your ex's consent?

Sure, you can.

But should you? Maybe not, because it would give your ex grounds to file for a domestic violence order against you. If he/she succeeds, then accessing your property may become a criminal offence.

Perhaps the more logical and less hostile approach is to just ask your ex if you can collect a few of your belongings and then discuss property settlement...
