Hi, I got caught doing 15kph over the speed limit on a road that’s 110 kph.
I am on a 12 month good behaviour period and the officer that pulled me over said I’ll lose 3 points and get a fine in the mail.
This means I’ll go over my allocated 2 points and breach the good behaviour period. I don’t have a good driving history either.
Is there a chance to take this to court and maybe ask the magistrate to make me pay a bigger fine and only take 1 point instead of 3?
I understand if I was going 5 kph less I’d only lose 1 point.
Also, I wanted to know hypothetically speaking what are the odds of getting caught if I’m driving someone else’s car that has no offence history,
Will police only pull the car over if they see an offence being committed, except for rbt

You're talking about the RMS' elective Good Behaviour Period?
This system is administrative in nature (rather than being a court outcome)
and is pretty much non-negotiable.

You can court-elect the new infringement
in accordance with the instructions on the back of the ticket.
But by doing that, you risk a new, separate, conviction.
In terms of any subsequent penalty, your whole history will be "on the table".
