I recently had an colonoscopy & endoscopy performed on me under general anaesthetic, when I awoke from the operation my good left shoulder was throbbing in excruciating pain. I think I may have been dropped onto my shoulder when they've moved me onto the operating table, not sure which steps to take next. Could it be medical negligence?

Carol,

A few things. Get an independent medical assessment on your shoulder injury.

Second you can then, in writing, seek an explanation from the hospital.

Perhaps seek your medical records from them too, if not now, then say after your assessment and letter.

And finally, after these steps, see a personal injury lawyer.

I hope this assists.

Paul.
