have a solicitors letter from him, saying he is going to put a fence up across my gate

Well, unfortunately, where there is one lawyer,
there pretty much always has to be another.
Time, I suggest, to get yourself a solicitor
who works in the field of rural land law.
Most solicitors in regional towns will be able to help.
