Hello just wondering if anyone can help me with a question regarding a bad reference.
I had to reapply for my job in a Victorian school due to excess staff. We were asked to address a selection criteria and provide our CV and references. I was one of the unsuccessful applicants.
Now they said they contacted my referees and my referees were ok but I have just been told they spoke to another staff member from the school not on my referee list! I have not been told who this is but what I'm trying to acertain is whether this is defamation as I have never had any issues bought to my attention in this school.
How can soneone who I have not even listed on my resume speak badly of me? Can I take this further legally?
