Hi,
Hi, I live in a strata complex and we are currently going through the defect process. Our building was a joint venture between two established property development companies. The company they formed to build our complex was conveniently de-registered after completion of our building, but both property groups are still trading separately & both show our building as a past development on their respective websites. We have been told that we have no grounds to pursue either or both of these developers as the company they formed together to build our complex no longer exists. Surely it can't be that easy for developers to shirk their responsibilities? Surely they can't just form a new company to build something, then immediately de-register after completion, but still continue to trade as separate entities, all the while each boasting on their website that they built our building? Can we pursue each of these developers regarding the ample defects to our building? Thanks
