Mine is a 'beyond the haircut' question; In a (long) nutshell, I was assaulted at work several years ago, resulting in several spinal surgeries and other issues (kidney failure, learning to walk properly again etc). I have always had my hair long due to the issues with my neck and went to a hairdresser last week, I reiterated several times that they mustn't cut too much off as I can't have it above shoulder length due to medical conditions. Aside from the damage to my hair from over processing the bleach, the 'senior' stylist took over because they were the guru at cutting curls. My hair was cut to my chin!!! its 6 inches above my shoulders, and is NOT a style, its chopped (my fringe has chunks out of it so doesn't sit right adding to the embarrassment etc). I am beyond devastated.
It has reignited all of the ptsd I had worked so hard to get on top of. I've been advised to get a wig, I need to wear a scarf all the time (IF I have to go out).
This is not just a haircut gone wrong - which will take a good year to even reach my shoulders) - this has seriously impacted my life. I contacted the salon and they apologised profusely but as they 'couldn't stick it back on' said they couldn't do anything...even the manager stated it was too short and poorly done (I sent photos) they offered a refund for the cut part of the price. Question; do I have a claim for breach of contract/negligence? I'm going to financially be out of pocket (aside from the emotional and physical side of it all), thankyou
