Hi all,
My partner and his sister just visited his mum’s financial advisor (with their Mum) as she has a some money left over after downsizing. The kids both have a Enduring Power of Attorney but the financial advisor (despite giving advice for over two hours) said she then needed them to supply an original of the Enduring Power of Attorney. Why would that be?
She said she needed a copy of original....not copy of their copy...but why on earth would she require this? They showed her the documents the lawyer has given them. With the current issues surrounding banks and advisors, we are wondering why she wanted originals. Seemed a bit insidious especially as her client was right there and in sound mind. Can anyone enlighten me on why she would need original?
