We were 10 pound Poms in 1967 April 1st we flew over with our 2yro Daughter, in that time we purchased over 10 homes all over Australia ,I have returned home to Tasmania for my last move as I am 80yrs in September in ill health. I lost my important documents including my Citizenship papers so now I haven't enough documentation to prove who I am .Which means I cannot verify Residential Status to avoid paying foreign investment duty. I am utterly devastated I don't know what to do I have my Centrelink card and Medicare card plus Bank Statements with Master Cards but I don't drive so what can I do after all these yrs.
Please help me.

Sincerely Martia

Write to the Department of Immigration and request copies of your Citizenship papers.

Send a copy of your request to the relevant Tasmanian Department so that they are aware of your situation and may hold off on enforcement action.
