Hi,

I have a property in Victoria. It was rented through a real estate agent. The gent let the tenant get behind in rent and the tenants vacated the property. They did not clean/repair the premises appropriately.

The premises were cleaned and repaired and the bill was sent to the tenants via agent. The tenants did not pay and eventually the agent took them to VCAT. VCAT only got me back the rent owed and about half of what the tenants owed me for the cleaning/repairs. Is there anything I can do to make the tenants pay what they owe?

You can possibly appeal the VCAT decision. If you don't, then what VCAT says they are to pay is what they owe.
