I have amusing CCTV footage of an employee getting upset and accidentally destroying some property which caused him to panic. I would like to upload this footage to the internet for profit. Is it acceptable to do this if his face is blurred?

I read some info on this site (which is not from Australia) and it says that this would be an illegitimate use of footage. But if the faces are blurred could I be sued?

Is It Legal to Post Business Surveillance Video Online?

Hi,
I'm only guessing but I would say no. Employee surveillance footage is gathered for a very specific purpose and just obtaining the footage for other purposes especially profit sounds unlawful. Not to mention it sounds like your intended use could cause humiliation to the employee if it was ever found to be that person. I would say don't do it.
