Evening,

my husband of 5 years and I separated about 8 months ago. He is English and has been in Australia for about 10 years and is in his early 40's now. we were married in Australia

We are preparing documents for property settlement. He has never mentioned any type of superannuation contribution or pension type scheme in the UK and any searching I do is vague.

Can anyone tell me what the set up is in the UK, if so can this be taken into account in property settlement and where can I find out more information

Thanks

my mum is 70... She came out here in her late 30's... Because she worked in the UK for more than 10 years, she can access a part pension from the UK... Now my mum is way older than you're fella so no idea what might have changed since.

I would imagine he would have some sort of $$$ hidden away in the English system and it should be factored into asset split.

Surely you could find some info via google. Here is a Wiki
