Does anyone know what I can claim on deductions as a relief teacher that is different to a normal teacher under employment law? There is plenty of information on what teachers can deduct but I'm wondering if it is different doing relief at all different school.

Thanks in advance for responses.

I think your query would be better placed with an accountant than a lawyer.

Ask your accountant about...

Agency fees (where applicable)
Income protection insurance (if Workers Comp is not enough)
Costs relating to your superannuation
Costs of materials and resources (including consumables) that you buy yourself

I would think however that motor vehicle expenses
for travel between home and work, no matter where work is on this day or that,
will not be an allowable deduction.
