Good Morning all,

I was quoted $4200 for a valuation on a commercial property on the premis that it is being used in a financial
settlement ,[normally around $2000]
Is it standard practice for my ex partner to pay half?

nope - no such thing as standard practice... did the ex offer to pay half? and was it part of a legal agreement? why did it cost $4200 when it normally costs $2000

It's pretty common with valuers to charge extra if they think the valuation is going to be contested. It's like telling a retailer/service provider that you want their product/service for a wedding - the difference is 'drama pay'.
