Hi.

We recently purchased a car in NSW. We took it for a test run and all seemed fine, so paid the private seller and proceeded to drive the car home. After just 2 hours, quite a loud noise began. Cutting a long story short, there are serious problems with the gearbox costing anywhere from $2500 to $6000 to repair. I'm sure the seller will say it's a coincidence that 2 hours after purchase we ran into major problems. Seller reported car as in good condition. We realise when buying 2nd hand privately there's no guarantee as such, however the timing of this major issue is quite suspect. Does anyone know if we have any recourse at all? Thanks.
