I would like to know how I can ensure that the property for which I am one of two executors, and where I presently live, and have the rights of residency so long as I wish, when the time comes for me to move, will sell qhwn the other executor wants to sell via Private Treaty (I have told him the estimate current market value is well over $1.5million, and he has said that we would not get that much, given that the homes within one to two blocks have been sold for that and more).

How may I bring forth my argument to ensure that the property, when the time comes, will be sold at auction? I am sure that the other executor does not want to lose control of the selling process due to him having a premediated plan to do with the property.

Thank you.

Get a proper valuation done by a real estate valuer at the relevant time, not an appraisal written by an agent, and decide from there.
