hi, my father had a compensation claim from 2014 that he just got an offer letter for of 37k. He then got the fees from the lawyers etc which were 36k leaving him 1k. The same week he received the offer he passed away and so my sister as next of kin is finalising the claim.
As we are not happy with the outcome, if we reject it does that mean the lawyers don’t get their money, or just that they still will but we won’t? They were originally going to pay his ongoing medical expenses taking it up to 45k (8k for him) but because he has died they said they won’t do that now and leave us with only the 1k offer.
1k is really not something that can help us, so if we can reject it to ensure the lawyers don’t get paid we would like to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
