Hello,

We sold our car in November 2016. We had a policy with Budget Direct which we phoned up and cancelled when we sold it. There is record of that conversation but not of us cancelling. They have continued to take payments since then that came up as Auto and General Services Toowong, which we assumed was our other insurance company so didn't question it.

We got a renewal reminder into our spam folder which was obviously a bit of a surprise. We have phoned up hoping for a refund and they have passed it onto their team leader. Where do we stand on this?

Thank you!

Hi,
Not an issue, obtain the records for sale of vehicle from RMS, this should prove you sold the car and you can ask for a refund of the unused portion, I am not sure on this, it maybe tricky as they may argue that you did not inform them at the time of disposal.
Good luck,
