Hi

There is an organisation that is currently trying to get signatures to block a piece of law that is currently being put to a committee in Parliament. the law is to stop ex-gay conversion therapy across all states. now the organisation is putting around a partition saying that the law is to "Prevent parents from having the right to counsel children wanting a sex change because of Safe Schools"

Is it legal to get signatures on a partition through deception to challenge a law that has nothing to do with what the people signing it think?

It sounds like something that would be illegal to me.

if it is illegal i am thinking i should refer the matter for investigation by appropriate authorities.

Thanks in advance

I take it you mean 'petition'?

What you're stated sounds like misrepresentation. I'd suggest alerting the Minister's office.

Ultimately, petitions are nigh on useless in any case.
