Hello, I have been charged with 5 counts of shoplifting. This is my first offence ever and I know i'm bloody stupid and pathetic for doing it. I have written to the company I stole from offering a genuine apology and have offered to pay for the goods in full. I am genuinely remorseful for what I have done and will never do this again, I am a good person who pays for what I need and cant understand why I done what I did. I am on a disability pension due to a bad back and am terrified about going to jail. I know every judge is different but could you give me a rough idea what will happen. Thankyou

Five things at the one time?
Or, one thing on (say) five separate occasions?

Take yourself to a Community Legal Centre and get some start-off advice.
If you're a genuine cleanskin, making early and full admissions, pleading guilty,
genuinely remorseful, what you stole was not especially valuable,
and there were no aggravating factors such as violence on your part,
then you're not very likely to go to actual full time gaol.
