There are a couple of ways to do it.
Understand though, that as a mere "girlfriend"
the stuff you may have heard about about spouse/ prospective spouse etc
is probably not in play.

She, not you, should speak to an Australian lawyer who is also a Registered Migration Agent.
This lawyer will assist her to make an application, even though she is overseas.
There will be fees to pay, which vary depending on how she makes the application.

What the....?? Um, if you 'want' to be married, then get married, what do you need 'proxy' marriage for?? But i get it, if given a choice, you would rather play house for a couple of years before taking the plunge,,,, but that's not possible, so well, it is quite a commitment to get married and move country, you 'both' have to decide if you are really ready for that? Or she could get some other kind of more temporary visa, spend your time together in Australia, have your fight, break up, she can go back home.

What exactly do you mean by "proxy marriage"?
