Last week, just before Easter Thursday, I quit a casual job with an employer that wasn't respecting the promises made over hours offered to me and had not provided payslips, nor had deducted PAYG.

At the point when I quit, I was owed for 41 hours, worked going into Easter weekend. It's now late Wednesday and I suspect they simply aren't going to pay the amount owing.

How long should I give them to pay my wages and if they don't, should I try and contact them first or just go straight to Fair Work Australia and get them to deal with it?

Contact your employer asap and advise them you are owed money and that you'll be contacting the FWC if you are not paid by the due date.

Contact the FWC the day after your pay is normally due.

In the meantime write notes about dates/hrs worked, who was on shift, etc etc while your memory is fresh.
