My ex husband ( not divorced) has passed away , he deserted me and our kids 7 years ago , but we still own a house in joint names , he has left a trail of debt behind , will that be my issue or his last de facto ? What will happen with the house now , will the bank come after it ?? Please help , I feel worried for my kids ..

You will be quarantined from most of the debt, if not all of it, as long as it is not in joint names. If you are continuing to pay the mortgage the bank should leave you alone. You will have the opportunity to seek advice if the bank starts anything so do not panic.
