I had an AVO on my partner and it went to family court and he had restrictions but we were to have phone contact and SMS contact due to the kids. He breached that with harassing texts. I went to the police and they put a strict AVO on him and we have to go to family court in July.

What happens if I don't turn up for court? And how can I have these varied in court since the police put them on? Please help me. Stressed.

Well, an AVO can be imposed in your absence if you don't attend Court, and you can file an application to have the orders varied once they are made (though if you attend Court, you can probably ask to have them varied while the matter is heard).

What's the situation here? You've referred to the respondent as your partner, do you mean ex-partner? What variation to the order do you want made?
