I have an order to pay family court costs. What can happen if I refuse to pay these and can I fight this?

More detail needed. But - is it worth it? I'm not sure but I think a Debt recovery agency can take on the debt. They'll charge you interest and ruin your credit rating.

I imagine you would be entitled to the normal appeal process within 21 days...

Just refusing to pay means you will be in contempt of court... Extra cost for reinforcement if it comes to that... Also there is a default interest charge for every day you exceed whatever date is set in orders for payment

Damien8, how did this come about? Were you self repping? Or did you have a lawyer? What about the other party?
