Hi Members

I have a Mention next week. I would like to know if I can ask the Family Court during the Mention to:

- extend the Interim Order for 1 year?

- change location for changeover on the Interim Order?

I also would like to know what is to follow after a Mention (I'm assuming it's a First Mention).

Thank you in advance for your response.

Sure, you can ask, but whether or not it will be granted is a different story.

You'll need to file an application in a case to have the interim orders varied. Your ex will have an opportunity to respond.

You can ask, interim orders stay in place until final orders are made. After mention, depending on the circumstances of the case and how quickly information can be obtained, you will have direction hearings, until such a time consent orders are made or a final hearing is set down.
