Hi,

My question is:

My late father left a houseboat to his 5 children (2 from the1st marriage (#1), and 3 from the 2nd marriage(#2)).

In the will, it states that if siblings #2 do not want to buy out siblings #1 within 12 months, the boat is to be sold. Anyway, the boat ended up being listed for sale with an estate agent (executor of will's choice). It is valued at $135,000 but the executor of will has stated she will accept any offer as she wants the whole thing over with.

All siblings are in communications with each other and are not happy to be told that the boat might be sold for $35,000 less than valued and we have been told there is nothing we can do about it.

Is there really nothing we can do about it?

No. See a lawyer and have them write a letter explained the executor has duties to perform and can be personally responsible for 'losses'.
